Jim Schultz Physical Therapist in Boca Raton FloridaSince 1977 my work in this field has had considerable time to grow and evolve.  My techniques include the circulatory  benefits of Swedish to the more advanced manual therapies that directly address the cause of back, neck and joint pain.  It should be noted though, that the vascular benefits of an effective Swedish Massage cannot be underestimated.  Properly administered, the kneading and stroking of Swedish opens the venous flow, oxygenating the blood, dislodging and flushing toxicity from the lymph system and muscle cells.  Also, this passive process offers you the vascular benefit of a three mile walk.... but don't construe this as a replacement for daily exercise, folks!

As stated  earlier, I'm proficient in most of the advanced modalities other experienced massage therapists and P.T.s perform.  What makes the difference though, is in their application...and the amount time and patience in applying  pressure and passive stretching is most crucial.  Ever hear the old metaphor; "The operation was a success but the patient died!"  So if you have grimaced through a session, you can imagine how your nervous system was responding... quite nervously.  However if you are permeable to EXTREME pressure, I'll gladly refer you to the consummate professionals who can accommodate your need for that level of intensity.  I sure you will be fine.

John Barns and Aaron Mattis have greatly influenced my practice of manual therapy.  They are icons in this field and can be easily accessed on the net.

My philosophies and 'Jimisms':

  • I work with my patients, not ON them!

  • Longevity affords...the ever increasing window of opportunity for the ravages of neglect to occur.

  • You are as young as your movement.

  • I can repair a bad back to a bad mood!
